Please read the instructions about how to apply for a teaching position at A-JIS and then complete the form below.
  • after filling out the form and clicking the submit button you will be taken to the positions available page
  • only applicants who match the criteria for an available position will be contacted for an interview
  • your data will be stored in a database that is searched when positions become vacant
  • if your details change you may reapply, otherwise you do not need to reapply should positions be advertised in the print media or on our website
  • your personal information will not be shared with any other company, organisation or school and will only be used to contact you should the school wish to invite you to an interview
  • keep most of your information short and specific, the data will be searched on a keyword basis with specific criteria determined for each position available
  • please address your cover letter to the Headmaster
  • most positions at the school become open between February to April. Occasionally a position will become open at other times in the year but you are welcome to apply at any time.

Teaching Qualification : List the Teaching Qualification you have gained. E.g. Bachelor of Education (Primary)
Gained From : The University you received your qualification from.
Year Gained : The year you gained the above qualification
Other Qualifications : List any other qualifications you have gained below, the institution you received them from and the year of completion.
Current Country of Residence : The country you are currently residing in. Preference is given to applicants already in Japan or who are returning to Japan.
Years of Full Time Teaching Experience : Please enter below the total number of years of full time class room teaching in an Elementary, Junior High or High School Classroom you have completed. Please do not include years spent teaching ESL in company or language schools and ALT teachers on the JET program should understand that the school views their experience as different to that of a full time classroom teacher. Graduates are encouraged to enter 1 year of experience, gained during their teaching practice.
Other Relevant Experience : Enter any other experience you believe would help you in your role as a teacher below.
Main Subject Area : The school would expect a teacher to teach many areas of the curriculum, but please enter the main subject you have experience in below. In the other subject areas box you can list areas you have some experience in or would like to teach to students.
Other Subject Areas :
Grade Levels Taught : The levels of children you have taught, such as lower elementary, junior high, or actual grade levels, such as Grade 8.
Non - Teaching Skills : Any general skills you think would help you in your role as a teacher. Please be specific, don't write something like "Computer Skills", as this really says very little.
Teaching Philosophy : Please write a brief statement about your philosophy of teaching. This is personal and should not be just an extract from an academic text.
Cover Letter : Please address your cover letter to the headmaster. You can copy and paste it from a word processor but some formatting may be lost. Content is important, formatting is not!
Contact Details : You can leave any contact details you like but an e-mail address or phone number would be the minimum. Please be careful! Many people apply for positions and only applicants who are available will be granted an interview.
